ADMIT & BLAM Karate Make Music Together

What do you get when you mix a bunch of  karate kids from diverse neighborhoods throughout South Miami-Dade county, with a unique music program that focuses of positive actions?

Home Depot – Project: Father’s Day

On Thursday, June 18, 2009, the Palmetto Bay Home Depot provided youth from the BLAM and CMB Summer Camp’s with the opportunity to do a project just in time for Father’s Day.

The Jr. Counselors assigned from the Richmond Perrine Optimist/Miami-Dade DHS Youth Employment Summer Program, also assisted the Home Depot staff with the campers, while they themselves explored their knowledge of basic tools & usage.

C.M.B. Visions and B.L.A.M. Karate continue to partner on various endeavors.

CMB Visions Unlimited, Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization, founded to provide “Quality” youth and family services, that will promote the “holistic” (physical, mental, emotional, educational, & spiritual) growth, and self-actualization of the children and families served.

Faith Coalition & B.L.A.M. Partnership Grows

On Friday, June 19, Taishi, of BLAM Karate & Reggie of Arrendale’s Training, provided 16 staff & volunteers associated with Family And Children Faith Coalition (fcfcfl.org) with First Aid & CPR Training.

FCFC equips and mobilizes South Florida’s faith and community-based groups to more effectively respond to the needs of our neighbors.

The training was provided with standards set by the American Red Cross Association.

Summer Camps in High Demand for 2009

With the continuous budget cuts in Miami-Dade County, as well as nationally, agencies such as The Children’s Trust have been forced to reduce or eliminate their funding to numerous Summer Camps & Out of School Programs for 2009.

To assist parents/gaurdians in making a conscience decision about some of the local summer camp options, BLAM Karate has compiled a comparison chart between 4 popular summer camps.

This comparison was conducted on May 19, 2009, via phone interviews & website information.

We are happy to announce that due to our initial reserved seating capacity exceeding 250%, that we have postponed the event until August 8, 2009.

The overwhelming response from past & present BLAM Alumni, parents and  friends is what led us to this “situation”.

The event will still be held at the Signature Gardens in Kendall, FL from 7pm – 11pm.

Tickets are on sale at each branch and we have raised the seating capacity to accommodate more guests.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we celebrate so many wonderful milestones.

1st Annual BLAM Reunion Gala – Celebrating 22 years

BLAM Ju-Jitsu Center will be celebrating its 22nd Anniversary & Founders Day on August 8, 2009, at the Signature Gardens in Kendall, FL.

Past & present students, parents, supporters and friends from around North America have been confirming their attendance and support of the event over the past few months.

This event will have performances from all six (6) of its branches, an “Instructor Roast”, multiple DJ’s, dancing, raffles, silent auction, autograph sessions, select vendor presentations, video messages, awards, rank presentations, special recognitions and a time capsule launch.

*All proceeds will provide camp scholarships for disadvantaged youth*
